Tribute Night: Stevie Wonder

Price:
Suggested donation £5

The Tribute Night train continues to rumble through the expansive landscape of popular music, its journey now approaching thirteen years. For the 2019 summer edition, we will be stopping at a destination known for its soul, spirit, funk, groove, socio-political comment and innervision.

Stevie is one of those artists who has such incredible vision that it is beyond mere mortals to comprehend how such beautifully detailed, complex, groovy, ambitious, emotionally charged, vibrant, colourful, rich tapestries of music can be conceived by the mind of one person, a person who often writes, arranges, produces and plays everything on the records himself.  All the more astonishing when you remember that he has been blind virtually since birth.  It’s going to be hotter than July.

There is no admission fee as such, but donations will be collected during the interval, so please keep some money aside. Suggested donation £5. All donations go to the Rising Sun Arts Centre, which is a registered charity and is funded mostly by its own earned income.

Doors open at 8pm for a prompt 8:30pm start.
