Tribute Night: The Human League & Heaven 17

Price:
Free admissions - donations during interval (card or cash)

The mighty Trib Train continues its epic journey through the lush landscape of popular music, making its scheduled stop for the 2023 summer edition at the point where experimental electronic music shifted into synth-pop mainstream.

Led by the twin visionaries Phil Oakey and Martyn Ware out of the harsh, industrial steelworld of 1970s Sheffield, The Human League were pioneers of bleak-but-beautiful, experimental electronic music, influenced by Kraftwerk. A creative schism resulted in Ware splitting off to form Heaven 17, and both entities went on separately to produce their most commercially successful records yet.

If you would like to pick a song or two to perform on the night, please send an email to Zac at [email protected].

As usual, there is no admission fee, but donations will be collected during the interval, either card or cash - suggested donation £5. All donations go to the Rising Sun Arts Centre.

Doors open at 8pm for a prompt 8:30pm start.
