David Bowie: “…and the stars look very different today.”

The news of David Bowie's death shocked us all.

He was a hero to many and possibly the most significant and innovative musical visionary our generation will know. The body of work that stands as his legacy is unlikely ever to be rivalled. Even in death he created art.

He had a quiet modesty and humour that belied his stature as an artist. It is perhaps characteristic that on his 69th birthday he gave us an album every bit as challenging and rewarding as the best of his work, saw out the weekend and stepped quietly into the night.

In February 2007, the third in the series of Tribute Nights was dedicated to David Bowie. In response to this extraordinary event, there will be a special reprise David Bowie night on Friday 1 April. This stands outside Tribute Night's regular quarterly schedule as a special celebration of Bowie’s life and music.
